Matt 5:13-16 (salt and light
Mar. 3rd 12:33 AM 2014
Genesis 1:3-4 : Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.
John 1: 1-5: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Comment: In the beginning (genesis) God created light and He declared it as something that was good. In the book of John God Himself is Light unto man. In the book of Matthew as stated above God recognizes us as the light of the world. The only way we can continue to shine is to abide in Him because God did not separate Himself from us. He is the vine and we are the branches. May you shine and bear more fruit as you read in Jesus name: Amen
