WHO IS OMEGA 'B'? The real name is Dickson Lucky Justice (Omega 'B'), born in the mid 80s, and attended Ona-lade nur/pri school in 1986/87 at Gowon Estate lagos,before moving down to Delta state for my primary education, after my 3rd year in primary school, i moved back to lagos to continue my education. i attended Apelehin primary school bariga lagos, and later to Howell's memorial grammar school for my secondary education, i gained admission to university of ilorin where i studied political science. i am an indegene of Delta state, ika north/east to be precise, i was born in Ogwuachukwu general hospital Delta state.
HOW DID MUSIC START IN YOU? well, i've been into entertainment right from my childhood, i have always loved listening to music alot, but i started going fully into music, when i was in my junior secondary school, i used to call myself justo fusto, i found myself doing some kind of freestyle raps, mimming people's songs and dancing in different parties. I used to dance alot then, but professionally, after sometime, i joined a group called Harmonious Boiz, the group was made up of three (3) of us, steve starry, don destiny and Omega 'B', though they are my cousins. We recorded so much songs with different producers, like clement ola daniels, marvellous Benji, steve starry and Mr. Aare of music captain etc. we were together for good nine (9) years, did different collabos with some upcoming artists, like zion squard, jamz lord, d reign, rain, salt angel, waxy J etc. we also performed in different events,talent hunts and shows. our album was almost ready before i moved out of lagos to Asaba for a job after my university education.
i realised that the album has taken too long to be released, so i decided to go solo as Omega 'B'.
HOW DID YOU COME ABOUT THE NAME OMEGA 'B'? like i said ealier that i used to call myself justo fusto, i later realised that the name is un-professional, when i was in J S S 3, our mathematics teacher was in the class, i felt bored and slept off, unfortunately for me i was caught by the teacher and asked the last topic, i answered by saying ''ALPHA and OMEGA'' the whole class bursted into laughter. since that day my nick name became OMEGA. later i decided to add ''B'' to it and came up with the name OMEGA B. meaning GOd's boy.
WHEN DID YOU GO SOLO & WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO YOU SINCE THEN? mmm... For me, music is not what you just jump in today and feel you can reap from it tomorrow. I've been recording different songs since 2008 that i left my group and has taken part in different events, campus shows, secondary schools (public & private) parties, clubs etc. to pursue my dream. I won the most creative song of the year on campus all stars award in 2002, in University of ilorin and also has won different talent hunts since then. I have recorded about ten (10) different songs and have also worked with different artists and producers, like salt angel, mode-x, z-man, jamz lord, 2 flexy B, zee world, O'Black, Blaq 2, T-fit, Yeankeyz etc. Right now, i'm promoting two (2) different singles ILEKE & FOLLOW ME, which are officially being handled and managed by DJ HUMILITY, and here in Nigeria, the 2 singles have been making great waves, on radio, clubs and also on the street, am planning to shoot the video soon. since the time i left my group, i've performed in some major events in Nigeria, like the 1st edition of KOKO MANSION EVICTION PARTIES in different locations, i performed for the KWARA STATE GOV. in a get together party, different clubs, street jamz, secondary school award parties ( public & private) etc. I have also done much collabos with some upcoming artist. Right now, i'm working on my forth coming album, which will be titled "REBRANDED" and will be made up of twelve (12) tracks, and also will be featuring some established and up coming artist, which will not be mentioned for now.
HOW WAS YOUR GROWING UP LIKE? I am the 3rd in the family of five (5), made up of three (3) boys and two (2) girls and one step sister, which is my father's 1st child, i grew up in the street, i mean real ghetto hood, bariga to be precise.
HOW HAS BEEN YOUR SUPPORT FOR YOUR CAREER? for my parents, they never stop talking, they belief i should have focus more in my studies and descipline,but the only person that has stood by me from the on set, is my immediate junior brother, he has been there, financially, morally, spiritually etc.
WHO IS DJ HUMILITY TO YOU? mmm.. DJ HUMILITY is a cousin of mine, and officially in charge of my songs, the promo, djs connections, event connections and other networkings, he has been so wonderful.
ARE YOU IN A RECORDING LABEL? for now NO, i've been doing my thing all alone and also with the help of DJ HUMILITY, but i have had series of recording companies and individuals making promises, they are looking for already made, They want to eat the ripe fruits, they don't want to work before eating.
WHAT ARE YOUR LIKES & DISLIKES? I love honest person(s), straight forward, God fearing, social, down to earth, easy to meet, sense of humour and interractive.. I don't like being accuss wrongly, i hate hypocrites.
WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR COMING ONES? Well, every one in life has a purpose, but if you really know that you want to go into music, please be sure that you are talented, creative, work hard, move with the right people at the right time, pray hard and wait for God's connection, bet me, the sky will be your starting point...
